Curriculum Overview
Nanoscale magnets may soon help enhance medical imaging of the human body. The first lab below will help students understand small-scale concepts of magnetism by first experiencing them on a larger scale.
Nanometer-scale (a billionth of a meter) devices now have a new way to generate electricity: using tiny, nanoscale generators. The second lab below will help students understand small-scale concepts of how nanoscale generators can make electricity by first making electricity on a larger scale; they will do this by making a wind-powered generator that will cause an LED bulb to blink.
