Curriculum Overview
There are 2 labs in this series. The first lab below is a guided lab that will help students understand how transistors (found in computers and cell phones) communicate with the world. Students will build model transistors using scientific method skills, such as collecting data and analyzing through graphs. The second lab below is an inquiry-based lab that challenges students to build a model for a multi-transistor switching system. Advanced students can be further challenged by building models for “AND” or "OR" Boolean gates. There are two types of student worksheets: an Independent Inquiry Lab and a Guided Inquiry Lab, which allows teachers to choose the lab that best fits the education level and maturity level of the student. This allows more flexibility for teaching styles.
