Curriculum Overview
The labs below explore how light can be transmitted through a waveguide for communication purposes. Students will understand and measure the angle of incidence and the angle of refraction of a beam of light traveling through two mediums; they will understand how a waveguide conducts light and the problems and issues involved with designing small scale waveguides; and they will assess one of the limitations of an optical fiber.
