The History of Chip Camp : October 2004
The Nanotech Chip Camp at UCSB is a fledgling program whose origin dates to October of 2004, when 6 students and a teacher (David Mann)
from Santa Maria High School patterned silicon wafers in the educational clean room using photolithography. Every student who had this lab
experience asked if they could return to the clean room for a longer period of time to learn more about nanofabrication processes. So, by popular
demand, the first weekend-long "chip camp" was born.
